Disposable battery sizes

Different hearing aids are powered by different size batteries. How long your batteries last will depend on the number of features you use and the size of the battery. Your hearing aid may have an app that lets you monitor your battery level. Some hearing aids make a chirping sound when the battery is reaching the end of its useful life. It’s easy to shop for hearing aid batteries. Each battery has a numeric code and a color to make identification easy. The four most common hearing aid battery sizes are:

Orange (#13) for behind the ear and in the ear instruments. They can last up to 240 hours
Brown (#312) is the smallest battery available and is used for in-the-canal (ITC) and completely-in-canal (CIC) devices. It can last up to 175 hours
Yellow (#10) batteries are used in small hearing aids like ITC and CIC models. However, this battery has a shorter life at about 80 hours
Blue (#675) is the largest battery, and it has the longest life. This size is used to power bigger hearing aids like behind-the-ear (BTE) devices. Blue batteries can last as long as 300 hours

Rechargeable batteries

Rechargeable batteries give you freedom from battery changes. This hearing aid option includes a docking station for recharging the battery. How long the battery lasts between charges depends on the functions and features you use. Some hearing aids with rechargeable batteries can also operate with disposable batteries in an emergency.

Wait at least two minutes after pulling the tab on a new battery before installing in the hearing aid
Keep hearing aids dry. Exposure to moisture reduces the life of your batteries
